Hello and welcome to scoaaustralia
We are glad you clicked on the link that took you to this website
Although we have been around since 1923, many people still haven’t heard of us, so now that you’re here, please stay for a while and get to know SCOA.
We are your friend in retirement. Not your personal financial adviser, but someone who can assist with information and to find out what to do and where and how to do it.
We publish a quarterly newsletter in which we try hard to keep our members abreast of what is happening in areas related to retirement for example superannuation, aged care, the Age Pension, taxation and the Commonwealth Seniors Health Card, and all sorts of other “Centrelink benefits” available to some of us when we retire.
And if the government of the day decides to do something that we think might adversely affect our members, we advocate on your behalf. We participate in the debate through letters to relevant ministers, submissions to relevant inquiries and we seek to meet with the decision makers, including other like-minded organisations as well as in the bureaucracy and the relevant Ministers and their staff.
Sometimes we have been successful, on other issues we continue our campaign, for example regarding the indexation of your pension.
SCOA Australia has approximately 8,000 members across Australia, but we need many more to give us a much louder voice. If you are thinking of retiring, why not take another look at SCOA Australia and see if you think that being a member might be a good idea.
Take a tour around our website. Click on any of the above links and see for yourself who we are and what we do. If you would rather talk to someone, call our National Office in Canberra on 02 6286 7977; a real live person will answer the phone and give you as much information as you want.
Join SCOA today. All it costs is $42 per year for a single membership. Better still, you may be able to claim some of it as a tax deduction. Click here.
We look forward to welcoming you to SCOA Australia.
